The survey is part of a project that the National Aerospace Laboratory NLR in the Netherlands carries out on behalf of EUROCONTROL in the framework of the EUROCONTROL Air – Ground Communication Safety Initiative.

The objective of this survey is to identify lessons learned, suggestions and potential safety recommendations in the area of air-ground communication problems between controllers and pilots. The survey on the air-ground communication safety is currently running and available at the ‘Air-Ground Communication Safety’ web site:

http://www.nlr.nl/public/hosted-sites/A2Gcom/survey.html

The web site also provides a short introduction on the purpose of the study, the organisation of the survey and the respondent’s anonymity. After submitting the survey via the Internet it will be sent automatically to the NLR researchers.

At this moment the majority of the respondents are pilots (about 80% pilots-20% controllers). We think that it is necessary and important to get a balanced view on the air-ground communication issues, which means that we wish to increase the portion of controllers’ responses.

We would really appreciate it if you could help us.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me.

With kind regards,
